CBRE’s Global Director Of Corporate Responsibility Joins All Good Work

Dave Pogue, Global Director of Corporate Responsibility at CBRE has joined All Good Work as an advisor and hopes to expand the Foundation’s reach beyond flexible workspace

From its early beginnings in the summer of 2016 to its official launch in January 2017, the All Good Work Foundation has been steadily expanding its program and supporting growing numbers of social impact organizations across the U.S.

The Foundation was the brainchild of Nate Heasley of Goodnik and Alliance CEO Frank Cottle, along with a team of founding patrons. An ever-growing network of ‘Hosts’ donate seats in their workspaces for the benefit of nonprofit social enterprises, which are verified by the Foundation and then matched with suitable donated space, thereby enabling them to reduce overhead and invest more in social innovation.

Now the Foundation has reached another milestone in its journey. In April 2018, Dave Pogue, Global Director of Corporate Responsibility at CBRE, joined the All Good Work board as an advisor to help the Foundation develop and realise its mission.

Discussing his reasons for becoming an advisor, Pogue said: “CBRE is in the business of workspace, and there is an opportunity to support charitable organizations by putting vacant space to good use. Some of our [CBRE] clients have operated similar programs by offering workspace to good causes, but until I was introduced to the Foundation, I was not aware of any other program like All Good Work.”

Currently, the vast majority of All Good Work Hosts offer shared workspace. In his advisory role, Pogue will offer his substantial understanding and knowledge of the commercial real estate business to help the Foundation extend its reach beyond flexible workspace.

“I will offer technical assistance on commercial and investment real estate, such as leasing structures and how space works in the broader CRE industry,” he said.

“Many institutional owners are actively looking for ways to work with charitable organisations and give back. The approach offered by All Good Work is one way of doing that, particularly for short-term space requirements.”

Pogue agreed that All Good Work has the potential to engage and partner with larger real estate companies and extend its reach worldwide, particularly as organizations are now taking corporate social responsibility more seriously than ever before.

“Ten years ago, people were concerned about the environment and issues such as energy efficiency, but it’s only in more recent years that they are now turning to social aspects as well.

“They, and many of our clients, are now seeking ways to demonstrate and act on their concerns in these areas, which is where All Good Work fits in.”

In addition to Dave Pogue’s appointment, the Foundation has just launched a new initiative — All Good Coffee — which supplies ethically-sourced coffee to coworking spaces and invests 100% of the profits into the All Good Work Foundation.

In line with the Foundation’s social impact ethos, the coffee itself is sourced exclusively from family-owned and worker-owned farming cooperatives. This enables low-income farmers to receive a better price for their coffee, therefore helping to raise farmers above the poverty line and improve the lives of local communities.
